    Are you a yoga practitioner struggling to see yourself among media representations of a “yoga body?” Have you avoided yoga or movement because you believed it wasn’t meant for you? Are you curious about how and empowering, adaptive yoga practice could impact your sense of self and your relationship with your body? In this workshop, we’ll have the chance to explore this relationship in a community environment, drawing on tenants of yoga philosophy, such as non-violence and impermanence, that can change the way we relate to our own bodies for the better, and providing the opportunity to embody these concepts through accessible breath, movement, and meditation practices. Everyone is welcome, especially if you’ve practiced yoga before because you weren’t sure your body would be welcomed!

  • Kundalini Yoga Immersion Program

    Lighthouse Yoga Center’s unique Kundalini Yoga Immersion Program offers you insight into this powerful practice, guiding you on the mat and helping you craft a home practice or learn to incorporate elements of Kundalini Yoga into your other yoga teachings. 

    Join Lighthouse Yoga Center’s 40-hour Kundalini Yoga Immersion Program. This course will meet once a month in 2019, from 1-5 pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Sadhana will start at 5 pm each Sunday and we require attendance at a minimum of 3 Sadhanas to successfully complete the course.

    We offer this immersion as a way for Kundalini Yoga students and teachers to deepen their practice and hone their skills. Hatha Yoga teachers who want to start to add some elements of Kundalini Yoga and Meditation into their practice and teaching will also find it useful. The goal of the program is to develop an understanding of the basic principles of Kundalini Yoga as Taught by Yogi Bhajan. With this knowledge, you will be able to maintain a steady home practice and begin to share this technology with others. Please note that this program does not replace the full 220-hour KRI Level One Teacher Certification Program, but will provide an excellent foundation for anyone who would like to enter a future teacher training program.

  • Spring Kundalini Retreat: Setting Goals & Making them Happen

Join Lighthouse Yoga Center owner Julie Eisenberg (Jiwan Shakti Kaur) and Casa Om owner Hargobind Khalsa for spring Kundalini Yoga weekend course at the beautiful Casa Om Potomac. Employing a combination of yoga, meditation, small group discussions, journaling, and other exercises, Julie and Hargobind will help you clarify where you are in your current journey through life – and where your next step may take you. A weekend intensive like this allows you to get away from the daily grind of work, family, and other obligations. You have the opportunity to focus on your SELF, and start to ask and answer the important questions.
